Open Interoperability Standards

Open standards enable systems to interoperate and exchange data. Open standards, at their best, are well-defined and allow systems to work together without additional development. This type of “integration by configuration” provides efficient ways for customers to meet their goals while minimizing investment in custom scripts and converters.

Ex Libris strives to implement support for standards which have been adopted by the industry. We also believe that members of an open community should contribute to the standards process, and our employees volunteer to take an active role in many organizations and standards bodies.

This “standards dashboard” provides an overview of Ex Libris’s support for open standards in its flagship products and lists standards organizations in which Ex Libris staff actively contribute.
