The Colorado School of Mines worked closely with Ex Libris staff to implement Social Logins for our Internal Patrons.
These patrons typically pay a membership fee and they had not been able to login to Primo since we migrated to Alma in June of 2015.
This loss of service was felt acutely by our patrons and our staff.
In August of 2017 we finalized our Social Login workflow and sent out our first group of social login invitations to about 150 patrons.
These invitations were sent out via the set-based user notification functionality in Alma.
We extensively modified the social login invitation language and in that language point to the following PDF that provides additional information to our patrons who may be hesitant to use social login:

You can now use your Google or Facebook login to log in to the catalog to receive library services (renewing materials, placing holds, etc.). To activate this service, click here (link good for 14 days) and follow the instructions provided. Please select only one of the Social Media accounts to use. You will be asked to select a social network and give permission to the library to view your public profile information. The system will add your unique social network identifier to your user record, and will not be able to post anything to the social network, nor change any information there. What is stored can not be used to gain access to your social account. FOR PATRONS using the Library's catalog: once you activate/attach your account, go to the catalog, click on Sign In and use the Social Login option. Once you activate your account, select "Login using Social Login" when you login to the Library Catalog.
We have not done much customization of the attach confirmation email.
