Following a request from the user community at https://github.com/jweisman/alma-refine/issues/8 the “gnd” has also been added to the vocabularies which may be updated via the “Refine”.
The gnd is the Gemeinsame Normdatei (Leipzig, Frankfurt: Deutsche Nationalbibliothek)
Here is an example we will use:
Title “The myths of security what the computer security industry doesn’t want you to know” has the following 100 field and the following 657_7 fields with subfield 2 “gnd”:
Configure the Alma Refine to check the 100 and the 657_7 with subfield 2 gnd:
First click the three dots and the configure icon
Then choose gnd
Then add field 650 subfield a for cases with subfield 2 gnd (the 100 field with subfield a exists by default)
Now lets search for sample title “The myths of security what the computer security industry doesn’t want you to know”.
From the results list we will select refine service GND and click “Begin Refining”
Let’s expand the app so we can read the information more clearly
In the “select refinement” field select a value and click “save”.
Below we have chosen a value for both subjects but not for the author because we want (at least in this case) to only update the subjects.
