Testing Webhooks using https://requestb.in
** Note: Since https://requestb.in is no longer maintained, we recommend https://putsreq.com as an alternative. **
If you would like to get a feeling of the webhooks being sent from Alma before implementing your own HTTP endpoint you can use https://requestb.in
This site allows you to create an endpoint on their site and see a log of all requests sent to it.
Click on ‘Create a RequestBin’ and you’ll get a URL. Try calling this URL with any parameters, even from your browser (e.g. http://requestb.in/1jtkamz1?a=b) and refresh the “inspect” page (e.g. https://requestb.in/1jtkamz1?inspect) and you’ll see your requests being logged there.
Configure this URL in Alma. Make sure to use the https version of the URL. Type something in the ‘secret’ field.
Notice that you will have no problem activating the URL in the profile since the challenge process is skipped for the requestb.in domain.
