Are there plans to also make Loan information available via the REST API, or will that always only be available via SOAP?May 13, 2014 at 7:06 pm #35262AnonymousInactive
Our plans are to make all SOAP APIs available as REST, including the User Loan details.May 14, 2014 at 12:07 pm #35263AnonymousInactive
Thanks, do you have a rough time frame when the loan details will be available?May 14, 2014 at 1:40 pm #35264AnonymousInactive
Can’t say, but it’s definitely on our roadmap.May 18, 2014 at 5:27 pm #35266AnonymousInactiveAdmin wrote:Can’t say, but it’s definitely on our roadmap.
Can you at least say whether the getUserLoans method of the ALMA API is planned to be implemented? Still in the 2nd half of 2014 or only in the first or second half of 2015?
We know that our users would highly value a smartphone APP that gives them access to their whole Library Account data and functionality. Without having the possibility to access the loan data for each user it doesn’t make much sense even to think about starting such a project.
Yes, we could use the SOAP version of the API but since you are in the process of deprecating it, we are not sure if investing time and energy in tapping this API is a good idea.
All this things considered a rough time frame regarding the implementation of the getUserLoans API method would really help here.

We do plan to create RESTful equivalents for all of our currently SOAP supported APIs, but higher priority is given on our roadmap for rolling out new APIs. This will keep us very busy the next couple of months !
