with Rosetta version 5.2 authentication methods other than pds were introduced and in further versions the pds is going to be abandoned.
Am i correct to assume that once pds is gone the pds handles of the clients to the rosetta web services will not work anymore and that the clients must adapt to the other authentication methods as well?

After additional consideration it was decided by product management that PDS will not be deprecated in the foreseeable future. However, it is strongly recommended to use basic authentication for all new applications that use Rosetta APIs.

using the Rosetta SDK, what is the way to migrate from PDS to basic authentication? Is there some documentation or example code available?
In the javadoc for 5.2. and in DepositWorkflowExample.java from the SDK examples still the pdsHandle is used.

We plan to provide better documentation on this. In the meantime, if you compare the authentication methods in the 5.1 example https://github.com/ExLibrisGroup/Rosetta.dps-sdk-projects/blob/master/5.1.0/dps-sdk-deposit/src/com/exlibris/dps/sdk/examples/FullFlowExample.java (156) and the 5.2 example https://github.com/ExLibrisGroup/Rosetta.dps-sdk-projects/blob/master/5.3.0/dps-sdk-deposit/src/com/exlibris/dps/sdk/examples/FullFlowExample.java (167) it should point you in the right direction.
